I’m not sure about you guys but I’m feeling mighty energized this week. After a short hiatus we’re back and ready to keep elevating your events to the highest possible degree of glow.

Today we’re talking corporate events, again. We speak about these types of events often because they are so crucial to businesses as a whole. Corporate events offer companies a chance to really put themselves out there whether it’s through a staff appreciation party, fundraiser, PR and branding event or to wine, dine and impress existing and potential clients.

A successful corporate event has the ability to propel your business to new heights while an unsuccessful and poorly planned event could tarnish your companies image and reputation.

ORGANIZATION IS NON NEGOTIABLE
If you’re a seasoned corporate event planner you’ve most likely got this in the bag but for those of you that are new to the game it’s imperative that you stay and remain organized. This entails making literal lists and checking them twice so to speak.
Stay in contact with your venue and various vendors such as décor, food etc. to be positive they know what’s expected of them on what day and time.
Lean on your support staff! You alone can’t pull this off so pick some reliable and trusted coworkers to help you.

ENTERTAINMENT, DÉCOR & FOOD
This should be one of the major sections on your to-do list. Finding, booking and organizing entertainment, food and décor can be stressful but well worth it in the end, especially if your corporate event has a theme.
Recent trends see event planners steering away from the traditional Hor  d'oeuvres and buffet style and opting for something a little trendier like ethnic food trucks and food stations such as tacos, donut walls and sundae bars. This typically sends the message that the brass is trying to bring their staff back to a younger mindset which ultimately relaxes them in turn stirring up creativity and re-energizing them.

ANTICIPATE PROBLEMS BEFORE THEY HAPPEN 
Knowing what to expect is one thing but anticipating any possible problems before they happen is what a true event master planner does. What do I mean? Well there’s always a few that like the open bar a little too much. Inform your service staff when to close the bar and who to avoid serving past a certain point. Have a dozen or more Ubers on call for closing time and consider sticking a security guard at the exits just to make sure nobody that drinks is driving.

Take the liberty of arranging for a limo car for the VIP’S so they won’t have to wait in line for the Ubers and although you might be feeling rough the next morning it’s important to have your thank you memo or email ready first thing the next morning.
